I run a Dually & 5 Car. 4-5 days a week. Home every night unless a good load comes out and I can't pass it up. They pay is way more than 200-300 per day. You can average 2.50-3.00 per mile, gross, easily. -
How long has the dually been pulling the 5 car for? We were thinking about getting a 5 car for ours but are now thinking about going the semi route w a 7 car.

I've put 59k on it in 2018

The Mini5 is very versatile it's actually shorter than the 3-car great for small streets but driver MUST be trained and VERY careful when loading/unloading the top deck. You can pull it with the RAM you already have, the extra 2 cars (over the 3-car trailer) is pure profit.
7-car is good for longer run, can't go into small streets so it has its pros and cons.
I have 7-car trailer for sale, 2005 Cottrell model C-5307 for $25,000 PM if interested. -
I used to work as a crew boss for ADESA as a temp for truck sales. It is very common weekly to see all sorts of vehicle transporters out front of the gate off US 70 and I-440 on auction days for cars loading and unloading.
It does not matter how many cars a given trailer can hold when being loaded up with cars going to the new used car lot etc. What matters is that it's economically viable to grab a batch of vehicles, tie em and chain em and go with one driver instead of hiring and paying 5 drivers and having the 5 risks of accidents etc. It gets pretty busy and intense when the dealers need to load up their purchasing and take em home. -
Hey that’s what I’ve heard from drivers constantly crying that the rates are down.
I’m on the west coast. Maby rates are much better on the east coast or I talked to a bunch of lazy drivers.
$12,000 a week running regional sounds good to me. -
What is the current rate window out here in Cali?
-
It depends on the car, but from .45 to .85 cpm per carhighwayMike and Markgc64 Thank this.
