I have talked with two different Swift Mentor's one of them is my mentor currently. They are telling me when they have students on the truck they are bringing home anywhere from $3800 to $5000 a week.
Is this true? That is a lot of money to be making. One of them is a lease driver and the other a company driver.
I find this hard to believe but hell I don;t know anything about the pay when you are a mentor. Maybe someone can explain how SWift pays mentors
Are SWift mentor's making this kind of money?

Sounds like they are both FOS.
If your mentor is making that kind of money, how could he possible have the audacity to treat you the way he has?
As for the company guy: let's just take 40cpm...and multiply that by 5,000 miles, the average for a team truck. $2,000. I'm using 40cpm because I don't actually know what a company team gets paid. I'd be willing to bet it's not 40cpm, but I could be wrong. Heck, even at 50cpm, it's still only $2,500. And that's before taxes.
If L/O mentors were making that kind of bank, why are so many of them struggling?
Use your head.ironpony Thanks this. -
If your mentor was making that much he could afford to stop and eat at least once a day, he could afford to shower regularly and he could afford to put you in a hotel during home time.

It's like the ads for "Owner Operators Can make $175,000 per year!".
True in some cases.
Before a little tiny thing called expenses.
Bringing home $3500 a week...after taxes?

Yea I kinda thought this was not true. MY plans where to become a mentor when I am allowed to. I guarantee you I will treat my students a hell of a lot better than the way I have been treated.
Again thanks Injun for all your help. I am glad I am home until tomorrow morning because this Flu has taken a toll on me.
Perfect timing getting home time. -
You would think so!! -
My mentor told me that he didn't make much more as a mentor than he did running solo. Not that I thought or cared much what he was making...but we didn't really run the truck as a team alot. I basically ran it solo (although when needed he would drive also) he was very attentive to Swift policy and wasn't in it for the loot. Seems he was happy training and taking what miles i ran which would in effect be about the same pay he would have made running solo...except he didn't have to drive much. After having read Bluebonn's story...I think I should call my guy up and tell him I luv him...lol...anyway my experience in life is that anyone who tells you how much they make is usually wishing that is what they make.....but here is a truth..as a company driver that just got my 6 months in....I figure I will make 38-40,000 this year. January pay was 3,000 plus so all you wannabe's...that is reality.

Ooohh, brother!
How about ya just present him with a ring and head off to Massachusetts?
".....snuggling to keep warm.....luv my guy....."

my buddy that is still mentoring with swift and he is a L/O says with a "good" student in can clear 2500-3000 bucks after exspences... but that is also not the norm but it can happen
but running hard on my own with MY own truck i could clear 2000 mark so it was alright
