That doesn’t make sense. You are supposed to roll over during a steer blowout. Haven’t the inexperienced taught you anything?!

Hahhh I can honestly tell you the original aluminum fenders on my 379 would probably cause extra damage to the hood if I blew a steer, by getting ripped off and taking the hood with them when they go. Thats the second blow out I have seen on a Cascadia with minimal damage to the hood and fenders. Its something that scares the crap out of me, in like 99 or so I watched a truck in front of me have a steer tire blow and take a hard left into the median and go into a group of trees and kill the driver instantly. Ever since then I have a zero tolerance policy with steers, any sign of trouble or issues they get replaced

These steers only had 36,000 miles on them. 16 ply Bridgestone 213R. I notice some random small chunks missing from around the tread on them. Nothing that made me think the tires would fail but now I wonder. I didn't curb it. I don't remember running over anything in the road except for some bone jarring bridge joints now and then. I didn't feel anything off in the steering before it just went boom! in a split second and that was it.

I have the same tires on my new Volvo. I noticed a couple little spots that had a few little chunks on it. So far I have almost 82K on them and run them at 100-105 PSI. What are yours aired to when cold/first of day before running? Also so far wearing really nice and no problems from mine.

You run that low on 16 ply? These steers on this one are at 115 psi.

That might be why they blew. I have heard a lot of people say run high but I tend to be 100-110 at most and have 13K or so on front with heavy loads. Yes 16 ply.

That is my set up right now as well. I might add to drives to 110 or 115 at some point.
