I understand what he was asking. All I was doing was offering him what his options are if he goes with a mega carrier.

He has some experience driving. He should find a locl job. I'm sure a smaller a company will hire him since he does have experience even though it's not recent.

He has never driven, but in school.

I graduated from Alliance in January of this year (2012). I ended up not getting a truck driving job at the time as I got another job but am now looking at getting into trucking perhaps in the next few months. I will be moving out of State but know I will need to do atleast a refresher course. Alliance, I would say, is an okay school but in my opinion it is not the best out there. Alliance has trained a lot of drivers but its heyday was about 20 years ago. It is in definite decline now. They have old equipment and you can tell their financial situation is not good. I do think I received decent enough training. If you can get some training under Henry Reed, who at least when I trained only worked on the weekends you will get some good real life training. Mr. Butterick is a stickler for details and very high and mighty on himself if I do say so myself. Good luck and hope things work out for you.

That is true. The last time I drove was when I had my road test for my cdl over 2 years ago. So no experience whatsoever. I ended up getting another job and trucking never has panned out so far. We shall see what happens.

How come you say it hasn't panned out when it doesn't seem like you have applied your skills. But if you have this bad of time making these decisions. Maybe making decisions on the fly going 60ish mph with a load of hot dogs, 200 gallons of hot diesel under your seat. 120 degree steer tires, grand ma doing 55, and bull hauler coming up your donkey at 85mph. Hmmmmmmmmmm
