I think some companies do pay experienced driver's more and do care.the reason behind hiring everyday by the big trucking companies is low pay to drivers = more profit to them. you really have to know what you want from this industry to keep your head above water and make money,im not getting rich doing this but I live comfortably and support my bad hobby farm habit.

OK, I was going to reply to your first thread, but in reading through here, I found the second one. It appears that you made a bad financial decision by leasing with little to no experience. I'm not sure what you can do about it, but if you are able to hang on until your lease is up, you can then go to work for somebody driving THEIR equipment.

O/O's may make money. Many do. Many also go broke. I hear rumors of a very few lease operators that make money, but I'm not at all sure I believe it. The thing is, that if you back out on your lease, it will screw up your credit rating, which will also likely screw up your ability to find a GOOD employer.

Good luck, man! I'm afraid you will need it. AND a good financial plan.

Open carry has long been legal in Arizona! And if he is in Indian Country, he might be better off carrying a Tomahawk rather than a hand gun!:biggrin_2559:

It's funny, I forgot that at the house but I did remember to bring my Jackson pulverizer. Super handy for flatbed.

There are good carriers out there. The problem is it's not a one shoe fits all kind of occupation. Some make out OK at the larger companies. Some do not. Some come into this with no concept of the work, time, and sacrifice it takes to succeed in this or life in general.

It has always been a " you can be replaced today" kind of job. The trick will be and always has been to find the place where you are comfortable.

If you believe you're never paid what you're worth you can go try to find someplace else.

But... Making a good name on a job takes time. That good name will allow you to be "the driver" they count on and take care of.

A lease op ? Well , that explains it . And you just joined the forum this month . You should have joined 6 months ago and heeded the advice to never lease .
Why are you asking about how carriers treat their employees ? Want to see your employer ? Look in the mirror. .
