When I ran for the High Value Products division of North American Van Lines, I got stopped by the DOT coming off of the Manhattan Bridge a few times when I was pulling a 53' trailer. Got tickets for being overlength and overwidth. Max there was 55' long for the t/trailer and 8 ' wide.

My dad started in trucking with NAVL, general freight. He had a single axle GMC Jimmy cabover. I've got PTSD from that truck and I just went on 2-5 trips.
