So I was wondering if there were any trucking companies out there that will sponsor someone who is getting ready to go to truck driver school?

Any info on this would help out alot!

    Thanks!!!

    Hello:)

FW, you had stated on another Thread that you had attended Johnston Community College (JCC) Truck Driver Training Program several years ago.

Their Refresher Course is $95.00. I strongly suggest that you go with this option. They can help you with the opportunity to work for a good trucking company with no contract to sign.
They can also help with job placement if you do not need the refresher.

Have you spoken with them lately?

I do NOT like contracts, especially for Newbies. Contracts do not provide the job security that one would think that they could/should or would offer. It can make you or break you.

Yeah I did go back in 2003. The only problem is that I have had NO experience driving since then. I called and I do not qualify for the refresher program because I have not...

    A. Have had no experience in the last 3 years or graduated within that 3 years

    or

B.Driven at least 12 months out of the past 5 years

From what I understand, (and this is coming straight from the director of the program) in order to qualify you have to have graduated from a program within the last 3 years and not had any experience driving. Or if you have graduated from a program longer than 3 years ago, you have to have driven at least 12 months out of that timeframe. Unfortunately for me it was 6 years ago that I took the program.
