Are there ANY ELD's that have a "HOS EXEMPT" duty status option?

There is some crazy #### in here. How a trip can be part exempt and part logged defies commonsense.

 

Because it’s not on duty! He’s asking about the HOS exemption under 395.1(k) BigRoad does not have that exemption option.

 

So when is the planting and harvesting season for live fish haulers ? We also fall under the agricultural exemption, lol.

 

Whatever your state says it is....

 

In Idaho planting and harvest season is 12 months per year.

 

But wait! There is MORE!

We pick up feed in British Columbia and bring it home. So, by the MAP-21 rules, we are exempt for 150 miles from the PICKUP point, according to the FMCSA, but not according to our Canadian friends. So, what do we do? Log in, load, drive twenty minutes to the border, log out and complete our 150 miles off the clock? Then log in, drive, and log out again 150 miles from our farm.

I can't WAIT to come across the scale at Bow Hill with that log book.......

 

I would think the remainder of the 150 miles once you enter US jurisdiction would be exempt (assuming I am understanding your explanation properly).

Sounds fun.

 

It is, because it allows the driver to get past Seattle in the quiet of the early evening, instead of fighting morning rush hour.... Which is safer, but, geez, this is getting ridiculous....

 

They just need to abolish all of these exemptions. Problem solved.
