I used to drive for Roehl transport from 2010 to 2011. Since then I've had a couple of non driving jobs. In 2013 I hooked up with a fed ex line haul contractor to fill a new route that they were supposed to have "any day now". 1 year later I'm still waiting for that route. I'm still an employee there, but have only driven 9 times. So then I decided that I was going to hit the oil fields in Texas. So I got my tanker and hazmat. What I have discovered is that I am now considered an inexperienced driver because my time at Roehl was over 3 years ago.
So I'm thinking, since I have to pay my OTR dues all over again, I may as well use my tanker endorsement. Are there any tanker companies for experienced newbies? I'm in Michigan, but plan to relocate to Texas or ARizona.
Are there any starter tanker companies for experienced newbies?

I know Schneider does. Not sure how good it would be though..

You may try calling Chalk Mountain Services out of Pleasanton Tx. Pretty good outfit home daily hauling frac sand in dry bulk pneumatic tank.

Prime would be another choice, they have their tanker division for those w/ no prior tank experience. I believe they have a NE regional.

Try CAB logistics maybe.... and don't 'hang' yourself by giving more info than required.... so you only made 9 trips... you still have a year of otr and around a year of line haul employment. Play to your strengths not your weaknesses.... I'm not saying to flat out lie but keep in mind there are a lot of drivers trying to get these jobs and you have to 'sell' yourself. Best of luck to ya

Can anybody give me the hiring requirements for a company called Grammer Industries? I looked all thru their web site and couldn't find them. I know they're predominantly a haz-mat tanker outfit, which is where I would like to end up. Yesterday, I found a terminal just 35 miles from my house that I never knew was there, around the Celina Ohio area. I will be knocking on their door one day this week, after school, just thought I'd try to gain as much info as possible before I head over that way. Any information is greatly appreciated.
A quick hello to you Chinatown. Also to Ethos, good luck with your new ride at Tri-Mac.
