yep, those good jobs require something other than looking at a computer screen....that is the single most/biggest problem with folks today.....if all a potential employee could do would be to e-mail me and show zero initiative to try and come by or at the very least call...his app goes straight to the trash....good jobs go to those who take the time and give the effort to LOOK for them..not just "surf the net".................................no need for them to post anything other than the phone number mattbnr...the rest is up to you.....or maybe not.....

    mje and rodknocker Thank this.

Not long. Maybe 2 or 3 years. Might be less than 2 but they will start you out around 50 cents. The thing about ltl miles. They ain't sugarcoated.

I wouldn't set my alarm for .30 a mile. I started at that 5 years ago. Sharkey transportation out of Quincy Illinois will start you out at .35 cpm. I drove for them for over a year. Not a bad company overall.

The trick to trucking is to work smarter not harder. I was on the reefer division with Sharkey. I was running percentage at 24%. I was only getting maybe 2000 miles a week but I was still clearing more then the mileage guys running 3000. So I could run half as hard and still make more doing it. You guys in May trucking look like your running yourself ragged for peanut pay to me but if your happy where your at then keep at it man. Gotta be happy. Makes all the difference.

3 to 3500 miles in a slow May Truck. Somebody better wake up and stop smelling the recruiting bonus. I bet you think international's are sexy as well.

    mje Thanks this.

If May paid decent there'd be no need to run that hard.

That's the thing. A stubborn person can get a job with any good outfit.

Was that directed at me? If so, I can't help what kind of trucks the company buys and I don't really care as long as they don't tear up. I guess I have been lucky so far as I have not had any major break downs.

For .47cpm, I would drive a Yugo. I am not real picky.
