I priced a Duralite last fall for my 379 it was about $1750 plus tax... screw that... called Detroit Radiator, got their Power Max shipped to KCK for about $850. 7 year million mile warranty.

I asked for the OOIDA discount, got 10% off the CAC and $100 off my radiator.

Not a dealer, but just call them direct & be very direct. Skip the sales pitch thing.
Also don't buy the made in America pitch Detroit has. While the radiator core is made in America, the frame is made in Mexico & already rusting within 6 months of install.

The power max is made in China & the condensor is made in Thailand.

All those complaints aside, the product does work/fits perfectly, just fell for the made in the U.S. hype & they know you NEED the part & not going to ship it back.

As far as pricing goes, they are like furniture stores in terms of sales as their retail price has plenty of fluff to make someone feel like they got a deal.

The aftercoolers may work on a stock truck fine.......... but don't work on a modified truck for long. I have a customer that is replacing his Detriot Radiator aftercooler with only 75,000 miles on it. The right side of the cooler cracked from thermal expansion from high boost conditions and the heat created by them.

Ya get what ya pay for

Also the $1750 price tag was someone gouging you hard. The one I'm getting for my customer is a Freightliner Classic cooler and is $1200 plus shipping and core charge.........the core charge is $150. I wouldn't think a Pete cooler would be that much higher in price.
