If you noticed where if said if you get $5-$6 a mile going in then it might be worth it.
The problem is people going in for not enough and then complaining having to come out for $1.30
Are we owner operators really stuck around 2 bucks a mile?

Top end only. No block swaps, thank you.

So we're settling for $2 a mile now and it's "cool"
JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
Honestly, that was last year before fuel was $5-6 a gallon. Now I couldn't tell you.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

$2 a mile might have been cool 10 years ago but i think $3 should be the new $2 old standard.
All costs have skyrocketed, maintenance, housing, fuel, food etc.
Just think what happened to the $5 footlong subway sandwiches or 2 for $5 Peelot Pizzas.
That wasn't that long ago.Midwest Trucker, mitmaks, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah, things blew up right when I was getting out.
And good luck on that $160 an hour shop rates. They probably won't have the part.
I got lucky/ blessed.JoeyJunk and Kenworth6969 Thank this. -
Just get a $8k day cab and run it OTR and sleep on a board across the front seats.
JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ and RefMata Thank this. -
Can do better than that.

For anyone who cares, these are legitimate returns you COULDVE made if you knew how to trade OPTIONS. IN ONE DAY. If you were to have bought PUTS (betting the market DROPS) you could’ve made anywhere from 100%-600% your money.
LITERALLY 10k into 60k (for ease) just minus the 10k initial cost putting you at 50k split in half for tax. You could’ve NETTED 25k in A DAY. -
You know hindsight is great an all, but if someone can make 25k a day why are they driving a truck?Sirscrapntruckalot, Chieftains, Brettj3876 and 3 others Thank this.
