It's not magic you can do that, it's just a simple fact you can ... if you want to tear up roads at a faster pace. Plus, we have at least 10 times more truck density then Canada. We don't need a bunch of these greenhorns down here trying to e-stop 90k lbs. It's all many can do to safely manage 80k.
Are weigh stations a waste?

By chance last name "Overhand" out of ABQ NM? Story goes they filled radiator with 38cal holes to finally stop 'em. (I was working for "DGM" at the time)

Well, I wouldn't call weigh stations a waste. The laws they are used to enforce are a waste. Most 5-axle rigs can safely gross well beyond 80k, and most tandem assemblies can take 40k. So it ain't about safety. If it were they would check to see what your rig's rated for before they weighed you.
Furthermore, your "registered" weight is what you're held to for purposes of fines. So don't be fooled. It sure ain't about safety. It's about MONEY!
I'd like to know too. 1st or 2nd gear with the engine brake on high should tame that.
Where's that?Last edited: Dec 22, 2013

The ones that pull everyone in PrePass or not are a waste of fuel.

The intended route was 3mi west of that position, which, being an orange route in the atlas, much friendlier. Suffice it to say this won't happen again. The wicked part is the first mile wasn't remarkable. Just a lil narrow as all 3 and 4 digit KY state routes are. Then, just when you're thinking I got this whipped and just gonna be slow and no big deal, around a bend and oh my god thats steep. Downshifting party all the way down to 3 of 13, grossing 78k. Guessing from a topo view, it's about a 400' rise in under a half mile.
