Thanks for the info. With Ky being in the middle of the freight lanes, seems like they could be making a little extra green. NY and NJ, sounds like another good reason to just stay away.
I see non local trucks using hwy 41 to bypass the Ringgold scales all the time. And have only seen DOT pulling one over maybe once or twice a year, even though I do see DOT sitting around regularly.
Are weigh stations a waste?

dont run it, its not worth it.
-
just to be woke up at 3am for an inspection after a 14hr shift and before another 14hr shift, just because its conveniant for the lazy dot cop to meet his inspection quota.
-
guess what, dot cops can falsely report their coop is closed to trick unsuspecting drivers into thinking all is ok until its too late. people need think about things, there are still about 1 or 2 percent of the population that isnt complete #######.

The one day I stopped at the Kangaroo for lunch and there was a DOT sitting across the road just waiting for the trucks going by.
-

D'oh! I was just there this week!
I wasn't trying to bypass the scales (in fact I got off after them) but my GPS was routing me to a warehouse in Collegeville. The minute I got off I-75 I thought, I bet it would be faster to stay on the highway. The secondary was way to slow, then I saw the low bridge signs! Couldn't they have mentioned that back at the off ramp?!? The local detour was no biggie but at the next corner the GPS says "right turn" and the sign on the street says "no thru trucks" D'OH!
Still, there was a Volvo day cab behind me and I think he took the illegal right. Probably a local, so that's on him. I just winded back to I-75 and blamed my 15 minute delay on traffic.
GPS also screwed me on the exit for the customer. Apparently there are a bunch of new interchanges right there. My GPS is only 2-3 years old and none of them showed up. Needless to say I had an easier time leaving then coming in.
Speaking of coming in, I love that sig Joseph, but that space looks a little tight for me.
joseph1135 Thanks this. -
