Awww no need to get all sour you can still have your pride. regardless of my future your future or everyone's future, these are how the times roll. people used to hunt down their food gut it and grub. I bet you hit up your local walmart, just the way it is. As the future of today there are more people and more stuff that needs movement so of course they need to make things easier for people "like" me. If i didnt have gps etc i would adapt just like y'all did..but being a steering wheel holder im enjoying my time, the views that i see, the travels, etc. And regardless of when i started, im out here just like y'all

Enjoy it while you can junior; before you're sitting on the sidelines wondering what went wrong.

No bitterness here, I just wish you and all the other "floaters" had the chance to experience the "brotherhood" that used to be.... the challenge of doing something worthwhile and becoming dam good at it.... the simple pleasure of walking right past the nattering herd to the "Professional Driver's Section" of a good truckstop where a smiling waitress had a hot cuppa Joe on the counter already for you (usually free to truckers) and you usually got a handshake from 3 or 4 drivers you knew.

Yup, that used to be. I miss that. Pity that you folks will never know it.:biggrin_25513:

There used to be a lot more camaraderie in this industry. Now, it is becoming more and more difficult to find another driver to have a civil conversation. It is usually even difficult to find someone to respond on the CB. Drivers were respected and you would NEVER find a pee bottle in a truck stop or on the side of the road. If you don't respect yourself you can't expect others to respect you.

Remember some truckstops & restraunts had on the bottom of the MENUS

" If you see DRIVERS who arrived after you , get SERVED before you they have a SCHEDULE TO KEEP " :)

Today its NO TRUCKS , RV & MOTORCOACH parking only :(

Yeah, the world is sure a'changin. Lots more meanness out there now. Too many "educated" people with small souls.

Sure makes me feel old and tired more and more often.

Yeah, I agree. Educated "liberals" who take God from the schools and the Pledge Alliegance and they fume in their air conditioned four wheeler at the world!

30 years ago I used to be embarrassed to mention I was a biker.

20 years ago I used to be embarrassed to mention I was a trucker.

Now I am proud to say I'm trying my best to be a hillbilly living in the sticks.
