Love the cabover, but are there really any unions that matter anymore for truckers?

Not mechanically inclined? I wouldn't recommend it. It's a very big piece of the puzzle. If you pay someone to do everything you will fail. If your first thought when you break down is to pull out the phone instead of opening a hood and a toolbox you will fail.

Personally I'm very happy but I'm not sure if I want to do this 20 more years. I love the thrill of the negotiation. I love the gamble. I love the satisfaction of learning to fix something, do something, make something, provide for my family and lifestyle, on my own. I never experienced that as an employee (company driver). They didn't want me to think for myself. They wanted me to follow protocol. Screw protocol.

That is what i question. The people that fail, is it just because they cant run numbers? Cause they stop at every truck stop? IDk but i want to try to understand. I have learned one thing, people that are not very bright can succeed where I fail, and I want to know why.

There is a long list of reasons why people fail. Then there are those who didn’t exactly fail, but didn’t want to deal with all the headaches even though they made a bit more than before.

I quote myself from a different thread:

Last year and the 6 months leading up to it were good . This year I'm chasing my tail , between repairs and low rates I'm not a happy O/O . I'm not broke, I call my own shots and I'm always learning and getting experience. I wouldn't advise anyone to jump in at the moment the pool is deep .

The majority of folks fail because of their business sense, trucking is more about business sense.
Trucking is more about business than it is driving.
