Are you thinking of being a owner operator (Consider This First)

Why would size of fleet matter? I never understood this.

 

Once again, lot's of subjective.

 

I don’t know, I would think a fleet owner would be able to voice an opinion on this matter.

But even me being a one truck guy I would never go back to running older trucks. I am money ahead compared to where I was trying to run older stuff. The payment is a wash, as you keep trading up the amount financed becomes less and less for a one truck guy provided that you’re diligent with your savings. Insurance is negligible as you change your value every year, especially in my case being leased to a carrier and taking advantage of the discounts where I can.

I also enjoy my time away from the truck when I’m home and I don’t want to be tinkering with a bunch of little things on my days off. Been there and have no interest in going back.

 

Idk, but I do know I have way more money in the bank than I ever did with an old truck. But, I don’t own a prevost bus from 1992 and I don’t have a set of designer jorts. But I have owned a truck or two over the years.

 

I’m happy to settle down but when someone implies I'm an idiot, it’s hard not to encourage them to think before they speak. I felt like I went quite gentle actually! lol
