Aren't we supposed to dump the air bags before we slide the 5th wheel?

I could tell you, but you would just argue about it.
Here's a hint though. It has to do with the word liability.

Surely you are not referencing the " I drove for 3 days with my airbags deflated, did I hurt anything?" threads?

    Kyle G. Thanks this.

Not quite. More like "I followed your advice and it tore up my air bags" reference. After all, if the air bags are in bad shape I can see deflating then with the suspension hanging from the kingpin being the last straw.

But your idea works too. :)

and to think we figured all these things out all by our selves.

how did I survive waaaay back before the internet was your trainer. I never even had a trainer, was told, "that's your tractor go figure it out in between your dock work" lol

shoot, I only moved my 5th wheel about once every 2-3 yrs or so, if that! lol

Fyi. Spray windex on 5th wheel rails, it makes it slide very easy.
Don't use wd40. It will collect dirt and grime. Windex washes off with rain.

That's a good idea for someone who only has to slide occasionally. Anybody who has to slide on a regular basis should use something like one of the dry graphite sprays or even silicone spray

    Windex, interesting.

I’ll try the graphite spray as I have some at our shop.

That stuff is slippery, especially on leather or vinyl seats. Need seat belts to keep the occupants in their place even when vehicle is parked
