You will be fine with this harbor freight torch. It’s actually a really good deal. Go get one and get the tanks filled. Comes with the tanks. And wear the goggles when you introduce the oxygen. You will go blind

    He checked your phone?
Is this common and what are the legalities? This sounds like a subpoena type thing, I mean is there really enough probable cause to do that during a simple roadside inspection not involving a felony?

I was thinking the same thing. However maybe what he meant was he had his logs on his phone as several ELD/AOBRD devices are setup? In that case his statement would be accurate and make more sense. Need a little more clarity to be sure.

A good number of ELD"s are simply plugged into the diag port and have software running on a phone or table as the head unit. If that's how it's setup the LEO doesn't need a warrant to view the ELD app.
Anything beyond that will be questionable. After all you consented buy handing them the phone... We'll need court cases to get a ruling I'm sure.
Now some ELD apps have an inspection mode that don't allow access to anything but what's legally required.

Good companies get around this by simply getting a smart phone or tablet and putting the ELD app on it and nothing else.
