Here - this 1 guy KILLED MORE PEOPLE than ALL instances of truck drivers that cant read/write english COMBINED (that I could verify).
Prove me wrong... I want you to. I seriously do. I want you all to stop screaming "the sky is falling" and PROVE IT.

Five Deaths, Multiple Injuries Caused by Intoxicated Truck Driver | Kherkher Garcia

Now what I REALLY want to know is why you guys are ok with drunk drivers killing people. Amazon driver, so probably one of the people you already hate anyway. Focus on what is important people...

Solomun Weldekeal Araya, slammed into stopped traffic in Austin Tx doing 80. That wasnt because he couldnt read... I would guess he was looking at his phone, but thats just my guess.

TRUCK DRIVERS WHO CANNOT READ OR SPEAK ENGLISH: NEGLIGENCE?

Negligent hiring and this is from 2016. Its the law and Principle based on common sense.

‘A trucker who couldn’t speak English killed my husband – Trump is right to ban them’

    https://kdvr.com/on-air/could-i-70-crash-suspect-read-highway-signs-in-english/

I See 3 here!.. I'm sure there are more but I honestly haven't have time to look. It's a lost argument technically because it's already the law.

Common sense, Not understanding, not being able to speak or read English doesn't not help a truck driver in a country where road signs are written in English. It's moronic to think otherwise and trying to justify the ignorance on any level is pathetic when it's a safety issue.

Yes, I looked at that one. I stopped the video at the first frame the driver came in view and he has a phone in his left hand and a you tube video running on the dash. Had NOTHING to do on if he could read or write... Found it:
    crash.jpg

    Scott Miller
Truck driver who caused fatal crash deported to Mexico after serving time in Colorado
Colorado State Patrol found that speed was a primary reason for the crash and that the truck's brakes failed. Had NOTHING to do with him being able to read/write english or not...

The runaway truck ramp one was one of the two I could find... The other one was from 2019 I think it was. Oops, the runaway ramp was the one from 2019. There is another one that happened in the last year, somewhere in Ohio I think it was. Those are the 2 in the past 6 years - that I could find.

True. The 2nd Amendment has been widdled down to nearly worthlessness in several states. You essentially need a license to utilize your rights. 1864 proves the Constitution is a joke and it's been treated accordingly ever since.

if these drivers are so proficient in English, why do many of these states allow interpreters to help them on the CDL exam? I think a lot of smart people can figure that one out doesn’t take a rocket scientist

    Really? Name a state...

In general, interpreters are not allowed to assist with CDL knowledge or skills tests in any state. Federal regulations prohibit the use of interpreters during the administration of CDL tests. While some states may offer knowledge tests in multiple languages or orally in specific languages (like English and Spanish), interpreters are not permitted for either the written or skills portion of the exam.

I was a CDL instructor for 3 years. I had a LOT of Somalians. Some of them could not read and write english when they got there, but they had a functional understanding before they left. Am I saying they were fluent? Nope. Am I saying they could read every sign on the road? Nope. But none of them killed anyone under MY watch. The most dangerous driver I ever had was a white guy named Jim somethingorother from St Paul. Flat out ran stop signs, red lights. #### near pulled out in front of a car doing 45mph but I popped the red button on him. That was his last day in my truck.

Best student I ever had was from Jamaica. Had to learn to drive on the right side of the road.

391.11 says they are required to be proficient in English and the test cannot be in any other language otherwise they’re unqualified to hold a CDL in the United States

Lol, again going to a reg that hasnt been enforced since 2016. Thats what? 4 times now? How about you provide PROOF that not being able to read is a real problem. Like a bigger one than drunk driving for example - a crime that they ARE NOT actively looking to stop?

Forgive me man, but you are now number 2 on my ignore list. Just spewing lies and using the same old invalid reg over and over. Troll someone else.

Gee I don’t know maybe a lot of these people walking into shippers and receivers using Google translate because they cannot read write or comprehend anything a shipper receiver is telling them… I’ve even had a tow truck driver who towed me to a dealership in Vermont. Tell me that week before he had a driver that could not speak any English and had to use the translator app to communicate with him… I’m sorry, but you are in the extreme minority because there is quite a few people out here that see what’s going on and we are glad that something is finally being done to address this problem
