I guess he was in a bad mood when I paid. He said he never heard of any discount.

Sounds like a good reason to call the TSA help desk. They actually answer the phone and try to answer your questions. Shocking, I know, but true.

BTW, did you get down to Corpus yet?

Been in Corpus for two weeks. I am not going to cry over $25. I have an application in at Sunoco and a few other places.

Good to hear you made it and I hope you like CC. I live just up 361 in Port A. I'm working up in Baltimore right now but I'll be home in a few weeks.

    Chibob Thanks this.

Finished with training today. There is no rocket science to crude hauling, but there is a LOT to learn and many of those things HAVE to be done correctly and in the right sequence or you'll have oil on the ground...you COULD have a LOT of oil on the ground.

    A few observations:

    (1) Sunoco spends a lot of time and money training you, but once you are trained and on your own, they don't bug you. Since I have been here, I have seen the actual supervisor twice, once in a safety meeting and once at the terminal. We have a driver who also fills in for the supervisor when needed, I may have seen him 4 or 5 times total. Point being, they invest a lot of money in you to get you up to speed, but then they let you do your thing.

    (2) Oilfield maps suck! ....lol. Even the best hand drawn maps are tough to follow. I'll definitely be making notes and saving locations on my gps. I'm told that it's not any better at other companies. Obviously, I have no way of knowing that. Luckily, we run the same leases a lot.

Benefits: They do have good insurance and holiday packages. They also have a better vacation policy than I have ever had in previous careers. I don't really want to go into specifics, partly because I don't have permission to do so...and partly because I would rather you get that information first hand...from Sunoco. I will say that they have a pretty solid and generous benefits package...imo.

As I understand it, it depends on your schedule. If you are scheduled to work that day, you work....with a bonus.
