I have been running for PGT since may, and I love it here. You won't find many on here because were all driving! I am only on here because I requested a few extra days off for personal. I came here from ROEHL transport and I am so glad that I made this move.

That is good to hear. I think PGT will be a good fit for me. I am hoping to head to PA the 19th. It is hard to find info on here about them and I take it as a good thing, because there is no bad info and like you said they must be keeping you all busy.

I would like to know of a company out there that does give a great deal on a $0 down lease purchase program, that has no penalty to walk a way from it if it does not work out for you? Unless you have $6000 just sitting in your bank account that you can use as a down payment on a truck then you can get one with lower miles. Other than that I am not sure if there is a large company out there that is willing to lease a 2-4 yr old tractor for less than $600 p/m. Please feel free to correct me, because I am just going on what I have seen and read.

The payment is over $600 a WEEK not month. Yes there are trucking companies that have a better lease than that,I drive for one. They lease trucks with no more than 475k (max they allow) but typically around 300k mi. Im not gonna promote them on this thread though,pm me if you wish to know more. Dont think you cant find a good zero lease, you can if you shop and dont jump before you look. If you are still a student then you shouldnt even be thinking lease til a year or two of experience or you will most likely lose your backside, very very few newbs are successful at a lease fresh out of school.

I am not considering a lease this is just a side conversation that started here. I talked to the recruiter and hopefully I will be up at PGT on the 19th. I do have some concerns as he said their steel division is very slow now. However he said I can go into their building materials division and they are a very consistent and steady work and decent pay. Also it is regional and the terminal is only 2 hours from my house.

It's slow right now because the holidays are so close, and that's when all the big manufacturer's shut down for re-tooling and what not. But if you don't have experience hauling steel, it would be about the best time to learn. You wouldn't be as rushed on the loads.

Thanks for the info Dan, I never really looked that deep into the idea. But I have been around the block hauling flatbed/specialized. Just not sure I trust this economy right now enough to take on that side of the game.

Hey rainmaker yeah im still with PGT and i am still very happy about being here....with the holidays over freight should start picking up. As for orientation follow cjr's thread he put up some good info there. You may run into a few snags were something doesnt go as planned but thats the industry. I believe cjr signed up with the building materials because steel has been really slow in some areas. Where are you from we might be able to help with a division thats good where your at.

Thanks for the reply...I am actually from Pa... probably less than two hours from Monaca. I wanted to go to the steel side but not sure if it really matters. I am supposed to start orientation on Monday.
Yeah your right cjr did post a lot of good information on his thread...I keep checking on him to see how he is doing and how he handled some of the issues he faced.

How do you like your truck...is it pretty decent?
