The railroads are the same way now even when the crews are off duty in the hotel sometimes for 2 days at a time

Some of you reformed alcoholics remind me of the Born Again Christians that wanted to tell about God , even though I told them I grew up with a Grandfather who was a minister and a dad that would beat Christianity into me on a hourly basis.

I have lived in Florida for 30 years , been to jail 3 times on domestic charges not involving women , 2 of those charges were dropped the one that stuck was on me disciplining my 16 year old drug addicted past son.

One thing I can assure you about in Florida, if the cops are called for a domestic you are going to jail and the judge will sort it out, most likely charges dropped with court costs.

Blacking out on your 34 doesn't seem like such a big deal like a lot of you guys make it out to be.
Leave yourself 16-18 hours of sobriety before driving and you should be fine.

Maybe just do it in a friendlier place, like boys town. The bartender there will be a man dressed as a woman, and that alone will teach you not to drink so much.

When I was a kid we had a guy who owned a powerboat next to our sailboat at the yacht club.

He would get absolutely falling down snot faced every other weekend when he was there. He was like a train wreck and there was always stories the next day when he was sobering up.
He was a commercial pilot and the people that knew him and worked with him said when he was in the ####pit he was all business and in a jam you didn't want anyone but him in charge.

To some people drinking is a marthon, I like to keep it to a daily walk these days as my competition days are over.

To each their own, but all n all drunks are no fun, especially blackout drunks, been around and seen them all, I ran around and for a few years lead a pretty hard working, drinking partying group, some how I survived with no duis or wrecks,

My only regret is not having the 100 grand I wasted at the bars in those days.

I grew up on a lake, there's always a drunk or two on a lake. Everyone knows that.

I was back home visiting my parents a couple years ago and our neighbors wife had left him again.
He was out in the middle of the lake on his pontoon, steering wheel at full-lock, blasting Queen's Fat Bottom Girls.
He was out there riding in circles for 3-4 hours that night.
Where I'm from there wasn't a police department until recently so people take care of things themselves rather than get state troopers involved. A couple guys had to ride out to get him on jet skis and take him home.

I have a buddy that retired from the railroad. The stories he would tell you about what went on in the Caboose with the drinking and prostitutes and drugs would horrify you.

There's a hell of a big difference between having a few drinks during your 34 hr reset, away from the truck, and drinking until you black out and get arrested.
