I don't think it mattered much what the OP got arrested for.

He was not charged with any thing other than disturbance. Erase this thread and the company would have a hard time proving he was charged with drunk and disorderly since the cops did not test him.

Most likely the judge will drop it or even throw it out.
In Florida you are allowed to have one offense in your lifetime expunged . Easy Peasy. evidence of arrest is gone.

Gee, I've been drunk plenty of times, been in quite a few bars, but never managed to get arrested or black out. I must have been doing something wrong?
(I did fall asleep on the front lawn of my brothers house after partying after the wedding of my youngest brother. Somebody in the family still has a picture of me sprawled on the grass, cuddled up to a few of the neighborhood dogs in the morning. Sure glad it's not a digital picture. :) )

The company made a decision. We don't have the full story, including his work history with the company.

How the heck would the co-driver, (trainer?) know what happened unless he called him when he was detained?

we didn't get the full story.

I want to add something here. This comment is directed to all the greenhorn's in this forum. Todays trucking is NOT the trucking your daddy or your uncle buck did way back when. Its different not better just different. The FMCSA was created in I believe the year 2000, and since then a lot of new regulations have come from them. The states have also got a bit meaner with their rules and higher fines. Attorneys everywhere are looking to the trucking industry for lawsuits. This has left the carriers in such a position that to survive they had to also get meaner. The trucking industry does not suffer fools well in this environment. This is one reason I tell new drivers all the time to watch out and do whatever you can to protect that CDL in your pocket and things like DAC your DMV records and your driving history in regard to the CSA 2010 rules. So regardless of what you read in this thread or anywhere else. If you want to get smashed make sure you do it at home with your truck in a secure place. If you don't think a safety dept will not crawl up inside your rectum for drinking on the road even while "off duty" I dare you to call and ask!

I can't speak for other drivers but I never in all my years driving a CMV consumed alcohol while in control of a CMV. In my driving days I have had many times I was in a hotel waiting on a load or having work done on my tractor. I never consumed alcohol like that either. I have never taken any of the prohibited drugs, and with one exception have never been arrested in a bar fight. That exception was a night in Columbia SC a friend and I got a young black man out of a gang of whites who were after him. About 30 minutes the cops took the cuffs off all 3 of us and I went home. One more thing I have learned in my 57 years on this earth. You never justify this kind of behaver using other peoples bad behaver, it just don't fly.

I'm not perfect, never have been. I have made many mistakes in my life. I make those comments so the green drivers in here can learn from these mistakes and have long careers. As to persecution I am sorry your taking my comments as persecuting. But sometimes you have to call out irresponsible behaver for what it is. Also if this industry don't start self cleaning I fear the regulations and company policies are going to get so hard that nobody is going to want to drive a CMV, and honestly it is just about that way now.

I hope the OP has learned his lesson and can get back to driving because I think he will be very careful in the future and become a great driver. I also hope all the greenhorns in here can learn from those mistakes too.
