My load confirmation states to pick up a load with a reefer. Says nowhere about being a high cube (110"). 150 miles to the shipper and at the end of the day, the freight will not fit. What is the correct course of action?

file "Truck ordered, not loaded" with the broker and go find a new load.

Make sure you have him sign for an attempted pickup along with the reason why the load could not be picked up and have him print his full name along with signature...

That way you have proof that you showed up and can go back to the broker for costs.

Like those above me have said. Have the shipper sign the refusal of the truck and file for truck ordered, not used. Hopefully you didn't book this with one of these fly by night brokers.

Thanks for the input. It all worked out in the end. I was paid for my extra miles. I have a cheque in hand for the load just completed. I am satisfied.
