I heard drivers sold steer tires to owner operators for $$$ to get home.A C.R. England lease operator told me he got two new steer tires cheap. He then gave the Arrow driver a ride home and paid his meals.

Even though that will be considered theft in a criminal court (he will be served, trust me), I cannot say that I can blame him for doing what it necessary to get home and to find something to eat. I guarandamntee you I'd steal from a finance company to feed myself and get myself safe and warm at home too if I was abandoned miles from anywhere.

WELL I WAS STUCK IN THE WEST COAST ON THE DEC.23RD NOT LOOKING LIKE I WAS GONNA MAKE IT HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. ROEHL PROMISED ME A WEEK PRIOR THAT I WOULD BE HOME WITH MY FAMILY. THEY KEPT THEIR WORD... THEY HAD ME DRIVE FROM OREGON TO UTAH AND FROM THERE PARKED MY TRUCK AT A CUSTOMER. THEY GOT ME A TAXI TO THE AIRPORT AND FLEW ME HOME. ITS WAS A ROUGH FLIGHT BUT I'M HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, LIKE THEY PROMISED I WOULD. THANKS KICIA AND JIM FOR EVERYTHING. BECAUSE OF YOU I WAS ABLE TO BE WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS. MERRY CHRISTMAS!:biggrin_25514:AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I walked into the Petro one night with my GF. Her son was fixing a truck owned by FFE. It was still running the factory filters and oil with 90K on it.

    Who's next?

And considering they went belly up I'd say it would be a bad place to go.

Bottomline a driver should always have enough money or credit on them to get back home. If you do not you maybe in this situation yourself. This is a situation all can learn from. Most of these companies will not even get you home on a termination.

Newbies and Wannabe's Pay attention prepare yourself this to is part of trucking. Your are the person responsible for where you are, while it was a crappy thing to do, life happens the prepared deal with the unprepared thinks the world owes them. Prepare yourself before this happens. Theres reason we do not recommend certain companies over and over, newbies always think it not going to happen to them, and post how wonderful training is, then in a year or two they pop up and post the truth but the next group does not believe.

I truly Hope Everybody Has the Beast Christmas Possible and a Great New Year,

    Lonesome and miconn Thank this.

I think that needs to be "Some Companies". But I am curious whether they bought him a round trip...or one way ticket.
