Untill mid April there was running an art show on the road in the UK and mainland Europe. 4 truckers who took their family with them on the road, not in person but two portraits of the driver's families. (one interior and one exterior) These extra large format photographs cover the entire sides of the trailers. What do you think about this project? How is it for those left behind? How is it to miss someone terribly? And how important is it that someone is waiting for you? That someone wants you and longs for your return?
Thanks

you ask a very odd selection of questions, that i feel is just too personal and is possibly bordering on intrusive. sorry but i for one do not feel comfortable answering your questions.

Of course there is a serious down-side to the life, but every profession has its demons to be dealt with. Being a trucker's significant other is much like that of those in the military, albeit for much shorter periods of time.
My wife rides with me, but those times when she didn't, it was hard on both of us. Its especially tough when bad things happen to loved ones, and you're 1500 miles away - helpless to do anything (case-in-point: I live in Joplin, MO; it was three days before I could contact anyone at home to see how they fared during the tornado).
As far as the art project, it drives home a point, but in a whiny sort of way. -
i know its kinda personal these questions, but interesting for me as i'm doing a project regarding this topics.
i can imagine that the fact you can't do anything to protect or help your family in case something happen is a hard one to conquer. thanks for responding!
