as for the comment i made on the HOS and the weather.. I have had to shut down in good weather due to HOs just to be snowed in when i could have driven a couple more hours and missed the storm.. 26 inches of snow in sauk center Minnesota.. just up the road in fergus falls nothing. But i had to shut down in Sauk center... as far as your last comment.. if on on the road i should be doing one of these things.. Driving, Sleeping, or loading/unloading.. If paid by the mile I want every mile possible.. if payed by the hour I want every hour possible.. To me Success is gained by hard work, done honestly with out putting any type of burden on any body else..

Ok here I sit tonight in Reed Point Montana. I am only driving part time, as I have a Mining job that I am employed at full time awaiting these redicoulous rules.. (If they are passed I will never drive a truck again. (the EOBR one anyway) but I love trucking so I am doing it part time.. Ok I just took a trip to Red Deere Alberta Canada.. I am sampling AN e-log, as I said I am sitting on an exit ramp in Reed Point Montana, 16 miles from my home and I have to sit here for 10 hours before I can legally drive the 16 miles home, I had mechanical problems in Great Falls Mt with my reefer unit that slowed me down or I could have made it home, but as it is i am out of hours. I pulled into the last rest area but it was full, no place to park... I could legally unhook from my trailer and drive home, "Personell conveyance".. but not with an electronic recorder.. And I could not leave the trailer on the off ramp anyway. so ill sit here on this exit ramp for 10 hours and then drive the 16 miles to my home.. Makes alot of sence!

And if you were in Indiana, or any of several other states, you could drive home that last several miles with a ticket for parking on that ramp that would set you back at least a few hundred dollars, and do who knows what to your driving record!

Well if your going to use the personal conveyance clause you can on E-logs also(they allow us 1 hr on "line#5",its called off duty driving)
yous can use this if you have sufficient time remaining on your 14&70

A thinking driver would have figured out he wasnt going to make it home and looked for parking sooner. Or you could use the "travel to nearest SAFE place to park" exception. You would still technically be in violation but a case could be made that its not safe on a on ramp. However an officer is going to tell you you should have parked sooner not later.

Duh, I did drive home.. not hardley am i going to park on the ramp 16 miles from home. If I would have traveled to the nearest safe place it would have been the post office in the little town I was at but why? and if you read my post you would see that i did stop at the rest area but it was full due to the snow and road conditions... I was just proving a point about the EOBRS and elogs and how redicolous they are.

I Dont know if if this is correct or not, but if ur that close to home just run it anyways. And when u get home, in the NOTE part just FLAG a message to it saying u were going to a SAFE HAVEN... 9 out of 10 times Safety wont say anything about it...
