I am referring to general comments concerning socialistic behavior. I do not discuss politics.

I am referring to the fact that the big companies have embraced the same thought pattern in order to achieve an even playing field. This goal turns to be the same thing as a socialistic goal. Yet it is based entirely on the free market system.

And if it ruffles some feathers, then have her delete the post. It makes no difference to me.

ok....yet larger companies have the advantage as to size of fleets...where a smaller company is just that a smaller fleet...therefore any evening out of the playing field by using eobr's is negated......just like the desire to govern all trucks...would make it impossible for smaller companies that run the MAJORITY of produce to stay n the game.....embracing a flawed ideal...put out by people with an agenda is surrender...in my opinion

    Bingo.

You have found the result of the plan.

It will result in the loss of many independents because they want this to happen.

No, the offensive part, was my mentioning Socialism.

    Then bringing in the Capitialism.

Without further comment on how a business can actually work that way as well.

In the projection of the future and these items, the independents have a tough road.

Eliminat the HOS and the proposed EOBRs for experienced drivers with satisfactory/good records, have them carry an ID card Exempting them from HOS and EOBRS.. Use the EOBRS and the HOS for new inexperienced drivers just out of school, and those with poor safety records.. Use the EOBRS and the HOS for a training tool for new drivers and a consequence for drivers with a bad safety records.. they get alot of citations/tickets etc they abide by the EOBRS and the HOS. ILL bet you would see drivers driving alot safer if they were penalized this way for unsafe driving etc..

as an owner operator I have never made more money than I do as an owner working on a percentage of the load. I pull a stepdeck leased to a small carrier. I can make pretty much as much as i want to within reason if I choose my loads correct and utilize my deck space on my trailer.. i have worked as a Company driver, logger, Mechanic, Underground Miner, Etc and still make more as an owner operator than any I have mentioned.. and drive when i want to drive and stop when I want to stop.. If I want two weeks off at home then I take two weeks off at home.. If I want to take my son on the road my son goes on the road.. A level playing field is something that should not even be mentioned.. should a lazy man make the same salary as a hard working man? or should a dishonest person have the same opportunities as an honest person? Lying on your logs does not make you a dishonest person! at times lying on your logs is far safer than running in compliance with the HOS...

You sir are or were mislead, what does a "non-electronic" truck have to do with HOS and logging? you still have to follow the HOS no matter what your truck is,and they is NO doubt that is not going thru

I am talking only about the EOBR they said they can not disqualify an older non electronic truck.. on a non electronic truck you cannot install an EOBR..
