    can reset the check engine?
2015 Coronado (factory, not glider) DD16. In my No databus communication thread that has no replies, I explained the issue when driving in rain. I finally believe I narrowed it down to the ACM module water infiltration as it sits right in the water path, behind the left front tire.
Installed new, not rebuilt ACM programmed to my VIN and was greeted to this.
    acm code 1.jpg

    acm code 2.jpg

Checked starter, it started right up. Let the air build and while building, the solid engine light, and the red stop engine light went out and the def gauge went to normal. So self clearing EEC.
Googled the check engine code, which from my Nexus reader said spn247, there was a possibility that a drive would reset it. Nope.
So same reason that I bought my own Robinair RRR AC machine, I'm not scheduling another stupid expensive visit to the dealer. I really don't want the OTR as it requires a subscription. What other portable reader can clear the SPN247 code related to the replacement of the ACM?

My "ash accumulator" used to be right next to the lighter, now a power port, on the dash,,;), I'm sorry, I don't mean to be a wiseaxx, just how different trucking is today. What you just explained is like a foreign language to me, whatever it is probably shuts the truck off and the info goes to the Pentagon. Whatever it is, good luck, sounds pricey,,,,I can hear it now, "um, boss, going to be late, my ash accumulator is on the fritz'". I read, between 15 and almost 40% of all appointments are missed today many due to equipment failures. I don't know, used to be, any trouble, put the pump on manual, and made the appointment. Sorry, give me the old metal dash KWhopper any day.

Generally, disconnecting the batteries will clear codes. The SPN-247 is only part of the information needed. There is a FMI-X or FMI-XX to go with the SPN such as SPN-247 FMI-14. There is also the possibility that there was/is more than one problem besides the ACM module.

I grew up in a 1962 KW K100. 280 Cummins, 5'n4, and if you are old enough, you'll remember "center point steering". But I'll be honest, as much as I too like the simplicity of the older trucks with no emissions, I don't wanna go back. I have become very attached to my cell phone and the internet. I learned some time back that everything is relative.:)

Pretty sure this is just the ACM code. Recorded mileage at the ECM does not match the new ACM. I'll give the battery disconnect a try this morning. There are a few bidirectional scanners that seem to get good reviews on some of the shop channels I watch.

You can get the fully unlocked version of DDDL at EpCatalogs.
You will also need to buy a NextIQ interface to connect your computer to the data port. That thing costs four times as much as the software.

What's a price range? Not looking for exact money, just a range.

Click the links. The software is cheap. The interface is outrageous.

My first truck had 700K miles on it and I would have been bankrupt in my first year if I hadn't had the software.

The nextiq is not that bad really. It seems spendy for a little box that contains 3 dollars worth of chinesium, but like you say, the savings vs. time in the dealer's shop.

Yep. That was my reasoning. When I bought it there were some chinese knock-offs around for a lot less but I didn't chance it.
