They just called me a few min ago. They didn't have any LTL in Dallas atm but had truckload. Said I would start at 38.5 and $15 a stop. If you go get a bh you get $15? What happens if your there for 2 or 3 or 4 hrs? She said truckload is out 7-10 days? From what I was reading from other TL they didn't stay out there that long. At my cpm 2800 miles and 8 d/h would be $1198 a week. That's 60k a year. What am I miSsing? Do TL get to del any furniture? Wouldn't bother me any if I did.

yeah if you run empty to a live load backhaul it counts as $15 as if you'd hooked a load.....so it's still going to be $30 whether you load and drop or load and unload on the same trip. if you hook a customer unload (furniture loads only) it's a straight $50. so far the customers are pretty quick to load/unload so far. you can get accessorial pay they call a 'management drop' if they hold you up too long just have to call and get it approved. oneshot can answer better than me as to how long before you actually put in for it and how much it is i haven't been in that situation yet. been meaning to ask him at what point you call up and ask for it.

from what I see almost everyone running out of advance is out 5 days 6 tops. I'm pretty much setting my watch by going out midday tue and getting in sometime sun afternoon. it's been pretty consistent so far. most of the guys out of advance are gone when I come in and in when I get in so from the number of trucks on the yard looks like most of them are running 5 maybe 6 days as well.

they told me you can volunteer to do some ltl trips if you want to. will certainly bump up the pay some that's where the real money is here.

Did they tell you it would be 7-10 days? They said 1 day off. That's the only thing that is making me worried about it. I know I would get a 34 but 7-10 days you think it would be 2-3 days off. So you do get some furniture loads but they are customer unloads? That's sweet. I would volunteer for LTL cause I am use to unloading my own freight. I like that they put you in a hotel if you get stuck and run out of your 70

Yeah they said 7-10 but I don't see anyone out of my DC staying out that long. Almost all the trucks are in on Sunday when I come in and gone when I go out. I'm sure not. At least not so far but I could see that happening if things were backed up busy. Not sure what the other guys are doing since I'm out on Tuesday but I'm getting a customer unload every other week to start the week. Those trips are generally shorter and go to the home store warehouses but I roll there Tuesday, park at the warehouse and get my 10, then get paid to watch tv while they unload in the morning. Usually takes them about an hour.

They tell you 7-10 days because you could be out that long. They tend to be up front with the drivers on the things you could encounter. As a driver I appreciate that honesty. I am out of the Bolingbrook drop lot and usually out 5 to 5.5 days.

So far everyone that has responded is correct-I am ptp aka-truckload--, what some people have missed is you get a safety bonus every quarter, it has avg for me about 380-400, before taxes, then there is an annual Dec bonus - that comes from the material we recycle in the large company last yr it was about 1500-, my avg miles have been around 3025-thats good weeks and bad weeks-biggest week was 3811 in 6 days, I am out 5.5 + days rarely 6, but that does happen some times, mostly home on the week-ends for a 34+ break.

When they 7-10 days that could happen, I have been out for 2 weeks but that was for resetting my start time for monday again, you can also do that by working a short week too. I just did that. 4 days, went back out on a recap instead of a restart.

Now if you wanted too, you can tell them that you would like to step up and do furniture delivery's, and ask them to swap you over to the ltl fleet when there's an opening, they will move some=one into an opening first before running an ad. I did do a furniture unload 1 time-asked them to take my name off that list lol, getting to old for that.

Now being in TX, thats a good run from the factory, you should be able to be in the 65,000 range, they do sand bag there numbers, when I started last year they where telling me 58,000, I am on track for 70,000-72,000 this year, I have heard that there has been some into the 77,000 range-but I do not think that guy went home much.

The drop and hook fees do add up, my weekly avg is about 150.

I can also have a couple of cust unloads that are 50. each

And when they set your pay, its for total number of years you have drove, not how many years you are with the company, I started maxed = out 38.5

And the second year you are with them, you get profit sharing, now that is about 4-5% of your net for the year, and you vacation pay is a chk that is an average weekly pay day, not bad.

Ill get that message thing fix too, so you can pm me

Haven't been to the Market yet, and that's good mileage for the day, I haven't done any better than that my-self good-job driving. I did 587 to day my self came out of the house about 10 am, they already had me on a plan went to Columbia SC pepsi drop and hook, then I have to go to HSM in hickory (dead-head) then straight to ECRU MS. today.

Well so far this week started out good, 500 miler to Columbia SC drop and hook, then 140 dead head to Hickory drop and hook, then 566 to Ecru MS drop and hook, then in the truck shop-talked to the mechanic about a blown wiper motor and a quick fix I did to the turbo to keep moving, they had me in the shop with 2 mechanics on it and had me fixed in 1hr, dammmmm! Then got a load to Atlanta 303 (I Hate Atlanta) drop and hook-OK, then I get a call from back hauls-not good_going 42 miles to the bud factory in GA, and your load might be ready to go back to Ecru MS 312 miles at 4am, so I have had to shut down here, with 3.5 hrs left to run, Dam! And the last of the loads that me and 2 other guys get to get home has now switch frm Ecru MS to the Advance Factory as of today o-no , we shall see what happens LOL

If Ecru does not do anything else will have about 2500-2600 for this week, it has been short this week and last week 2025, but it does happen some times----

If I can get some time I am going to post the weekly or mthly numbers I have done for a while 1-2 yrs, so you can get an idea of what we do---
