Lol well he has been there 21 years. He seems to be happy. He's been driving a truck a total of 31 years. So he is pretty close to retirement. Says he has 4 more years and he is done. He has done over 2 million miles with Ashley. So he has one of the Ashley trucks with all the "fancy" 2 million mile chrome on it.

They're pretty firm on the 100 mile radius.

That area you'd run out of ecru. There are no ripley based drivers to my knowledge. The ecru daycab guys run shuttles between plants. The Otr guys as well if we do a drop in ripley we run a transfer load back to ecru for our next load 95% of the time.

Equipment is nice and well maintained. All have APU, fridge/freezer and big inverters. Primarily 13 speeds but a few autos here and there.

No micromanagement, mandated routing, fuel stops or handholding. You're expected to come in knowing what you're doing and be able to do it with minimal supervision.

I'm on the truckload side. 75% d/h no touch. I did 74k last year and home every weekend. The LTL guys do much better money but they earn it as well.
The only real downside is that sometimes the hometime is a little short. If we're covered up busy you'll only be home 34 and go again. When the workload is more normal you'll avg 42-44hrs home. Occasionally 2 full days.

If you're looking at Ashley as an end goal, one of the biggest things to kill your application will be job hopping. They want to see employment stability and/or longevity besides having a very clean record. If you're just starting out with kllm, suck it up and stay there 2 years or have no more than one change in your first 2 years. Any more than that you've more than likely killed your shot at getting here until you can show that you aren't just bouncing around place to place in search of the greener grass .

That was my goal honestly im going to kllm to get started and work my way into something else. If they only hire within a hundred mile radius would i have to move before even applying

No. There have been several instances of people being hired and relocating but you have to do it within a specified time period of being hired
