Yes i have, only part time though. Will that be a problem?

 

Part time employment is still employment. Get the paper trail and nail it down.

 

So since i did not have any jobs within that year, i will have to work another year for my current employer to make it 3 yrs. so i will have no gaps in employment even if the job i have is part time right?

 

Thank you for your answer. since dec. 2008 until jul 2009 i had no job, not even under the table jobs, plus how would you get documents for that anyway?

 

If you _did_ have 'under the table' jobs, you would simply report that income on your tax return for that year, and pay the tax on earnings. That documentation is good enough.

 

Unemployment... tax records. If you can't find work and you're looking, it sucks.

Part-time counts as well. Call a recruiter, lay it out for them, and see what they say.

 

I have not did 3yrs with my employer yet, i guess i will have to wait until i get that 3rd year in so i will have no employment gaps. will be 3yrs in jul.2012. Did not want to wait that long but, i have no other choice, plus it will give me time to save some money for expenses till i get my 1st check with prime if they hire me. I actually want to jump in on this. U2 is giving the facts but of all the Trucking companies out there, Prime is KIND ENOUGH to give an advance while you Train to get your CDL. The others are Great companies too (to me) but you go to a school, sign an agreement to pay for the school at 18% plus interest or pay $ 3995.00 cash. If you take the loan, it takes 2 to 3 years to pay it off by staying with the company. Prime is one (1) year. You also get NO advance and bring your own money but some will advance expense money at over 18% interest. They also do not care if you pass the school, which means you still owe the money for the school (for however long you stayed). From what I have heard on Prime, if something happened that you did not make it through and HONESTLY tried they probably will not go after you (my input only & could be wrong) as they are not that way and rely on reputation.

Finally, with Prime, you do a form of Team Driving after getting the CDL A, (so sure someone makes some money) but the Student learns how to really drive. The other companies pay at the most 425 to 475 per week after the CDL phase (Phase 1) and that is based on per day miles. With Prime you get $600.00 per week or 12 cents a mile, whichever is Greater.
