when a psd can you get a tankers endorsment through prime?

 

It all depend on if you already have your cdl permit before coming to prime school, if you do have your permit you can get it added to your permit at your local dmv by taking the test for tank, once you pass they put it on your permit. I was told by some drivers here you would be better off to get your cdl permit now, it will be easier for you when you get to prime school. IF you are at prime now you get it when you test for your cdl permit.

 

ya i would get my permit first,so if i do the tanker endorsment on permit when i go to the psd program i take it i'd have to test out with a tanker to get the tanker endorsment,is that what prime does?

 

No, you take the tanker test after your permit test. Both of the test you take on the computer, no truck driving is done.

 

let me try it this way in nh. my home state theyhanged the process for tanker,it used to be just a written but now even if you have a cdl and go to the dmv to add tanker you must also take a road test just to get tanker,so i take it there in mo. u dont need to take your road test with a tanker vehical because its just a written test?

 

That's the first i heard of that, maybe they change the rule on that endorsement, but i just took the test to get my tank endorsement no truck driving, but that was 4 yrs. ago. As far as i know it's a test you take on the computer no driving, unless they changed the rules and i did not know anything about it.

 

i checked with dmv in nh. and if i get cdl in mo. with tanker all i have to do is pay fee's to transfer to nh. however if i was going for my tanker endorsment i would have to have a tank vehical for a skills and road test so im allset. ya they just changed it here about a year ago,it used to be just a written but not anymore.

It probably depends on the state. Mine does not require an additional road test for anything after the basic CDL, just additional written exams.

 

Good for you, but you can still get your permit in nh without the tank endorsement and then you should be able to add the tank to it when you get to prime school, or does it not work that way?
