They lowered the minimum hours of drive time to 75. PSD students get a 10,000 mile credit for going through the program. How long before you test out is based on when you n your instructor feel your ready to pass. Depending on how well you do, it could be as little as a couple weeks, or 4-5 weeks. Remember the 75 hours are the MINIMUM, not a set in stone number

I think they should raise it back up myself. I did the full 100+ and 50,000 miles. I hang out in the nursery to watch the newbies n maybe help out if I can. Love watching them learn how to drive the trailer

Save us you flippant attitude everytime someone points out your incorrect information. You dont have any RECENT first hand knowledge of training, ... you say it yourself, you dont hang out around the pad.
Yeah, there seems to be quite a bit you dont remember lately. Im not counting either, but you keep shooting your mouth off with incorrect information and spreading false information (especially the arrest at the border deal).
Since you have been labled the Biggest Cheerleader at Prime it would be helpful if you didnt give the local holligans reason to doubt what you say... and in a small way, what everyone else here says about Prime
They guy asked a legitimate question for a time frame when he could expect a paycheck, you say "week oreintation and 10k miles." Well, if he has no experiance in the business, how is he to know how long its gonna take him to run the 10k miles (your incorrect quote)
An instructors truck is by no means a team miles truck, however it isnt exculsivley a solo operation either.... thus solo miles dont necessarily apply.
The guy is trying to make an informed decision, lets try and get him the correct information. The guy is already here and posting, we give him the wrong impression and then he's back here in a few months bithching about all the lies.
So they lowered the hours to 75... It was 100 as recently has this past spring and then all the way back to when I started in March of 08... So that put the information you are offering up today well over 3.5 years old.
I bet I am closer to correct with 100 hours when you add in the simulator time requirement and Springfield road practice requirement before the first load. -
That isn't quite correct. If Friday comes around and you don't have an instructor, you take a pre-trip class over the weekend, and would take the pre-trip portion of the test on the following Tuesday if you still don't have an instructor yet. If you pass that pre-trip test, your required hours are dropped from 100 to 75 to make up for the extra time you were at the yard waiting on an instructor. If you get an instructor on Friday, the requirement is still 100 hours.DenaliDad Thanks this. -
I just went through the program n hang out with instructors and on the pad. I know how the program works, atleast until they change it again. Age the simulator time doesn't seem to be included in the require hours, it wouldnt be 25 hours worth. I believe the 75 hours is only for those who complete their pretrip before they go out. Someone who went through after me will have to chime in on that.
Sazook you read my mind lol you posted that while I was thump typing it lol I knew they changed it, but forgot about the pretrip -
Do u think that means that he shouldn't apply?
-
It doesn't cost anything to apply, but just walking off like that will definitely hurt his chances.
-
so on the company side who averages the most miles per week, refrigerated, flatbed or tanker?
-
Reefer side for sure. However.... Flatbed get 2cpm more, plus extras that reefer doesn't get
