We're on elogs. Not a big deal, but you do have to understand the hours of service regs better - and plan ahead. It hasn't limited my earning, and has the beneficial effect of a free pass at the scale house... DOT cops aren't smart enough to figure it out!
Its $50 like Mont said, but can go to $75. I rarely tarp a load. Had like two in the past couple months. I mainly do jobsites out in the middle of nowhere. Im not complaining, I like my middles of nowhere.
You may want to save your $$ on that medical, you'll go through it again when you get to springfield..... along with your drug test etc.....
OK of course the exceptions - and mine is to slip in the back door if possible instead of the herd option... As in- Obtained application today for a legit utility construction company that supports highway lighting and maintenance that will be returned tommorrow. Not far from home 20... The pre-req requires a CdlA...So now that I have learners, dot physical card for 2 years, and most all endorsements less bus and doubles I went ahead advised the receptionist that was administering the hiring app and she said I was in better standing than most seeking employment and to fill out app anyway. This route with my previous utility experience could serve the platform to train and test for CDL while making substantially more... If i decide to go Mr Drop n Hook in time I may be ahead $ game with Cdl in hand. Whatever it takes to bump the needle higher in this commercial driving endeavor.
I'm sure these have been asked previously but, I can't read through 235 pages. LOL what is Prime's hiring area for reefer or flats? what is the pay for just out of school? how long with a trainer? I believe 40K miles? maybe I'm looking at their site wrong but I wasn't able to find much info there. big site with lots of flash but no real info it seems. I'm sure I'll think of more. and yes I'll probably call a rec at some point for more but I'm thinking the answers here may be more "honest"
yea but you have to have the medical before you can get your permit and i plan on getting my permit next week also
are there certain truck stops they make you go to? i remember running about 3 or 4 weeks with my dad a few years ago he drove for Bowling Green freight and seems like the only place they let him get fuel was flying J
