For those with DEF,is the extra cost each week negating the savings on diesel from higher mpg's? How much are you typically buying a week?

I try to remain that way -
I started with Swift, and I think their training was adequate. They have four steps to their training. Classroom for a week, the range, where you get familiar with the truck and trailer, and you learn the basics of backing, and the pre trip. Then you and two other students, go out with a trainer for a week, during the day, and pull an empty trailer around town. Then you go out on the road with a mentor, for about six weeks. Some students have to repeat one or more of these steps.
I took two and a half years off from driving. There were two main reasons I didn't go back to Swift. The first reason was pay. After you get your truck, it will be a lightweight, which mean an extra .05/mile=.41/mile to start. The other was, I think they are too big, and too many people making stupid rules, like not being able to drive off duty.
If I would have started with Prime, I would have lost my mind. I have been my own boss for far too long, to be stuck with a trainer that long. I believe it has a lot to do with them needing team trucks. When I was out with the Prime trainers, there were several loads that required teams.
Now that I have my own truck, I'm content. I have a very good FM, and he keeps me rolling almost constant. The reason I say almost, is that a lot of loads have too much time on them.
My advise, and I'm sure some will disagree, would be to train with Swift, then after six months, move to Prime. Of course you will still have to finish paying back Swift, but you will still make more money this way.
Ok all of you swift haters, let me have it. -

There's a reason Prime trains the way we do. We prefer you don't have to explain yourself on the evening news!
