Lease side for training is what you make in gross revenue, minus expenses, minus trainees pay. What's left over is your settlement. I believe there are some incentive payments for the longevity of your trainees, but I haven't ever looked into it.
I'm not sure what the deal is with CDL instructors, but there is some extra money in there for those guys.

Does prime require you to get a passport an hazzmat in order to work for them. I ask my recruiter she said no but i rather hear it from a company driver, thanks in advance for the info.

Ok. So hubby and I have been driving as company team drivers for about 6 months with another big company. We aren't sure if we really want to change but are looking at all of our earning options. We have a friend that is leasing with Prime (refer & dry van) and so far he really likes it. I'm pretty cautious and like to do my homework prior to making any big changes. So here I am. Of course the Prime website touts teams make nearly $6k per week on average. We are hard workers and really enjoy running big miles. No problem with our work ethic here. I'm having a hard time figuring out what our net will be after paying for the truck, fuel, insurance?, maintenance, permits, tags, etc. The Prime website neglects to post what expenses, if any, they help out with, or what we will be responsible for. I KNOW, I KNOW!!! First answer will probably be 'it depends'! But any info is appreciated. Thanks!!

Let's take tolls for example. Someone who runs the southwest exclusively isn't going to have much in the way of tolls. I run the northeast a lot, and it averages to around 3-cpm for me. It could easily be twice that for some yutz who doesn't understand that taking the Indiana/Ohio toll road on a regular basis to get from Chicago to the east coast is going to soak them... instead of something like US30/US6, etc.
Also your net is going to depend on a pile of stuff like whether you took hometime this week, whether one of your trips couldn't be scanned until after cutoff. You can go from thousands to minus thousands over the course of a week or two. Hint... you need to have as much in the bank as possible to fund your new business, and keep you out of the ramyen noodle aisle at Walmart.
Try reading this, and post back if your still interested...

$6000 sounds very high as an average take home. My best settlement was a little above $5000, when you add in the pay my co-driver got, that would take it to a little above $6000 between the two of us. -
Does Prime have routes on the East Coast
