You own or lease a fleet of truck?

8.04 got me .025 so I'd say your math is spot on.

Just curious where you do the bulk of your driving? Admittedly, I'm not the most efficient driver, but I've never cracked 8.6 for a week, except one time when I spent a weekend shuttling new trailers to a drop yard and bobtailing back.

    *edit*
I can't remember where I ended mpg wise, but my bonus was .063 for that week so you can definitely get over .06 bonus.

No. Company driver. Fuel bonus is for company drivers at Prime

as for "fleet" it's the collection of Company driver trucks supervised by my fleet manager. Matter of pride when I am one of the three or for "top mpg performers" mentioned in his fleet message.

Pretty sure he's referring to drivers on the same board as him.

Hello Everyone, First off thank you so much for all the valuable information everyone on this board provides. I have read thousands of entries over the last 2 years. I have wanted to be a truck driver since I was 16. I am now 45 and have spent the years getting laid off at a few of the major retailers corp. offices. The call to drive, and change my life is so powerful I will go sit at the truck stop and watch the trucks come in and out. So that being said. I have two questions I can not seem to find the answer to even with the search function. So I hope I am just not being retarded.

    1. I would like to bring my wife with me. Showering is my concern here. Can she just come in and share my shower? Do I have to buy another shower for her? Can I manipulate the system and fill up in two 50 gallon increments to get two showers? Just curious. My wife is asian, small, very small, and does not take up much room. :)

    2. I live in Utah, and I know prime has a terminal here in SLC. About 25 minutes from my house. As a company driver how often will I travel around the midwestern states? Will I be on the east coast all the time? I do see a lot of prime trucks here, but hardly ever do I see someone posting that they drive in the big states out west.

I hope everyone is having a good sunday.

    1. Team shower. Once you get your shower ticket from the kiosk, head over to the fuel desk and ask for a team shower. They'll print out a second shower ticket for your wife. You'll both get a private shower room.

    2. Couldn't begin to answer that.

Thanks for the fast reply Longarm. That's good to know. I know Flying J use to have a couple shower, but I think they did away with them in 2011. I worked for them at the time before Pilot took them over.

We have a western regional deal out of SLC on the company reefer side. They run the 11 western states mainly.

My wife and I share one shower. She feels safer that way than if she had her own shower. We do the same thing at the Prime terminals.

I live outside of Reno, NV so I guess I can give you a little info on driving the west coast. I was dispatched out of Springfield so I did not spend alot of time on the west coast, about 50% I guess. I would come out of home time, grab a load out of ID, UT or CA and head east. But the few times I did ask to stay out west I would be in/through SLC weekly it seemed as I hauled alot of stuff into the Walmart DC in Corrine,UT.
Now that said Prime is a OTR company and you have to go where the freight is, so plan on spending time out east. Best person to ask is ChuckTaylor as he seems to spend alot of his time on the west coast.

    Hope this helps you.

Thanks Highway. I really love the idea of traveling all 48, and canada. I just do not want to be stuck for 4 months in the North East or something crazy like that. After reading so many post on this site I understand how home time works. I am excited to apply with Prime. Still a couple of months out. Thanks again for the info.
