    Sleep Ponte, a third-party sleep clinic does the testing right in the terminal. Prime gives them use of the facility, and they give the drivers a break on the costs. Unless there's a huge number of folks needing the tests it shouldn't delay your getting into training.

    Ok ...not a question but I thought I'd add this for any older wannabes like me who want to try and get on with Prime. I had applied to Prime a couple of times but got shot down and couldn't get an answer as to why. I just got off the phone with a recruiter and she (sorry didn't get her name) told me what was holding me up was the fact that although I had retired in 2009 and was drawing a pension - because I hadn't had a job in the last two years I didn't meet their employment history requirement. So apparently, regardless of my retirement status and the fact that I'm drawing a pension, I'd have to go back to work somewhere for two years just to be eligible to work for Prime. She said there were other carriers out there that didn't have this requirement, so it looks like that's the path I'll follow. Thanks to all who contributed valuable info on this thread - much appreciated by me but it looks like I won't be driving for Prime any time soon. I'm out.

    Yeah, it keeps getting better and better. I can send and recieve messages to my fleet manger thru my phone.

    The old text system was ok for alerting me that there was a new load on my QC in the truck when I was away from my truck. It only provided a snippet of the message. Usislly not enough and id have to run out to the truck and see if it was a load i need to get goung in.

    This new app gives me the whole message. I can tell if I need to hurry up and finish what I'm doing to get in the load, or take it easy cause there is no hurry.

    plus the scan app is so much better than the other apps. We already have scanners in the truck, so i never worry about being toi far from a truck stop on cutoff day. A bit tedious if you have a lot if bills.

    This is probably stupid question, but I go sept 2 2013 to start my new career, what type of plug ins are in the trucks for like laptops and stuff? Need to no if I gotta bring a power point charger for phone. Thanks bud.... be safe

    There are standard 12V automotive jacks- just like in your 4-wheeler. All Prime trucks come equipped with an inverter that supplies 120 VAC... so your household wall plug-in power accessories will work as well.

    i emailed application a couple of weeks ago, have heard nothing....i quess those 2 duis i got in 94 have did me in....i thought it probably would...
