Crazy HC, did you solo out at MTC? Last I saw you were waiting for a different truck. I am supposed to do my solo test tomorrow

Yes I did solo and I did my first load and made on time delivery. Its a long story but I resigned and choose to go.with a company that would offer me more training as mtc told me they could not because I was already solo. My dm agreed with me that if I felt I need more training she understood, she was great. I hold nothing against the company I really like that company but im sure I will also be great with prime. I hear wonderful things. I have a good attitude so im fine were ever I go. I wish you the best dude keep in touch.

No. You are required to follow your routing unless you have permission from your FM.

You will have plenty of opportunity during TNT to experience the more complicated routes. Any competent trainer would be awake and sitting next to you during these situations. Even better, he wakes you up and has you sitting next to him the first couple times.

As to "it seems like a bad idea..." just exactly when would it be a good idea to send a rookie on those routes? When would it be a good idea to waste fuel and time to send them around these routes? If you are looking to avoid some of these routes, then you are closing off entire areas of the country in which we run.

I think rookies can run any routing as long as they train you properly. I would not be worried you will get the training you need. Thats why I want to come here they say the training is very good.

    Yup.

@ ironpony: Thank you for the reply. I look forward to networking with you in the coming year and get as much good info on how to be successful in trucking and the Prime, inc. way of doing it. Safe travels to you.

Few more questions, is there a pay difference between flatbed and reefer? and can you go straight into flatbed?

I'd go ahead and send it, when I sent mine in I had an email from my recruiter immediately the following morning. They will give you a number to call and their extension, and leave a message if you get the answering machine. Fill out that application THOROUGHLY, and HONESTLY. They WILL check everything in your back ground, plus when you go for your twic card, hazmat, and security interviews, any false info you have will come back to haunt you.
