We don't deliver in the 5 boroughs, but we have accounts on Long Island, and in NJ opposite da City. You will run a fuel route up I95 across the GWB.

Probably... I haven't heard of anyone on the cold side swingin' doors down there, but it could happen. Most places have their DCs out in the 'burbs. Now, you will run downtown Boston, Milwaukee, Philly...

Unless you are talking about the NE regional for Reefer, or the Texas Regional for Flatbed, or the Walmart dedicated, Prime does not have regional's. If you are talking about getting a dedicated run other than those and you being new you can pretty much forget it. The lines are long for dedicated routes LOL. But to answer your question, you would talk to your FM or his/her manager. But always go through your FM 1st.

Yea I'm new at this lol.
But this not be the right venue to ask but its burning a hole in my brain.
Lately I have noticed a lot of other trucking companies hauling Wal-mart trailers . I.e. us express, schnieder and now prime inc is in the mix. Does anyone know how that occur with prime. Inc making deliverers??

The Wal-mart DCs are considered to be regionals, the guys running out of the Reed City MI deal all call that regional, the whole LW tractor deal was started over servicing a major Midwest client as a regional deal, and we're still doing the western regional operation out of SLC if I'm not mistaken. If you live near Shelbyville TN or Olney IL do inquire about the Wal-Mart DC regional operations... they need more drivers.

We run the store load operation at 3 Wal-Mart DCs... just as other carriers do the same thing elsewhere.

What's the average length of a haul? And how many miles does a new driver average per week?

OTR has no average length of haul. You could be on a hot #### 300 mile load that you run in one shift with 15 minutes to spare (but that is rare) one day and pick up a cross country 2800 mile run that has 6 1/2 days on it. New drivers and all drivers average about 2200 miles a week. This depends on where in the USA you are at at the time. if you get stuck up in the NorthEast, expect a reduced # of miles.
