No they put you up at a local motel.
No idea on that one.
It's all been recently built out so the faclities are new, and yes to all.
That's something you'd have to arrange with your FM... and talk to him first.

Was going to post this in the hazmat whine/argument thread, but it might be better here... excuse the possible stupid question, but does the flatbed division haul any hazmat stuff? I've been thinking about going into flatbed, but ultimately I want to go where the money/better miles are, so if that means reefer, so be it.

Pittston is pretty nice, all paved, the driver's services building is so clean you could do brain surgery on the floor. As for the hotel, it's not the ritz- Carleton , but it does the job. More than likely you will room with someone. I'm a non smoker, but my roommate smoked, but he was cool enough that he would go outside to light up, and most of the class was easy to get along with, basically a mix of people from all walks of life.
They will throw a lot of information at you on the computer based training during orientation, but this is a company that is VERY big on safety.DWNR2 Thanks this. -
I don't understand the system in prime as to the "relationship" between dispatcher and driver and appointments and hos... for example.... if I have the possibility of getting a restart should I ask before I just sit...but twice I have been ''suggested" I leave and I get less miles...bc my clock is all messed up....I don't want to anger the disptchr because then I get less miles too and don't tell me that does not happen...prime has communications issues
-
you don't have to have a restart. If your hours are messed up, that's your fault. You maintain your log. The hours you have are the result of you maintaining a proper log. I run against my 70 all the time and still move loads and get miles.
If you can't move a load with the hours you got then you have to communicate it to your fleet manager that you can't do it. They don't just willy nilly give you any load. The computer matches your available hours with available loads. Sometimes those assignments are tight, in which case you still evaluate/trip plan what you can and can't do and communicate it to your fleet manager.
I never say no to a load I can't do with the given schedule. I always ask for what I need to get the load done which is usually an appointment change. I lay out exactly my problem, what I can do with a comfortable cushion and then My fleet manager can then figure out if he can make the changes I need, plan a Repower, or take me off the load and find another.MOBee, DWNR2 and BigRigEvan Thank this. -
Btw my FM knows when a load he gives is tight. It's right there on his screen what it takes to get it done , and whether I have the hours to do it.
It usually starts out with, "hey, what do you think about this load?" or "really tight on this one, but pick it up and I'll either get you some help (Repower) or get the appointment changed"
If he asks my opinion, I will trip plan it and communicate any problems or concerns.
They see the big picture, you have to fill in the details why his picture doesn't fit in your frame. Send it back to be resizedDWNR2, TruckinWithJosh, jomar68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Guess I'll ask...does PRIME have ANY automatic trucks available for someone like me with a bad knee? My guess is no but would appreciate an answer from someone that knows for sure. Thanks in advance

Question about "medical records". I've seen it mentioned a couple of times. I take no meds, havnt seen a doctor since I wrecked my scooter in 2010, are they going to want "medical records" from me?

For the records they would just need the doctor's contact info right? Please tell me what rake a few steps means
Thanks for the info
