I must totally agree. I have read this thread for quite awhile, and can't believe I even have to consider working with someone that's using. Personally, i do not care either if anybody wants to do drugs; that's your choice to do so. Maybe if you are using you should consider another field of work, so those of us that do not use don't have to worry about dying sober while you drive an 80,000 pound weapon that can kill someone.

Hey y'all, thank you for all the help so far.
One of the more vague requirements for new drivers at Prime is:
"A stable work history and good references (for experienced drivers no more than 3 employers in last year)."
As I'm completely new to driving and therefore the "for experienced drivers no more than 3 employers in last year" part does not apply to me, do you think their definition of 'stable history' is similar to the one for 'experienced drivers'?
Does anyone have any personal anecdotes about what type of shaky work history they'll accept? I've never been fired or let go on bad terms, but I'm pushing it after having worked for different temp agencies.
Thanks! -

Hey man I am sorry to hear that. How long, and how long ago? I'm wondering how many years of solid employment I need.. I've been trying to get in touch with a recruiter.
Early last year I did not work for 5 months so I'm guessing that will be enough to rule me out for now.. I just lived off of my savings and did other things, no government assistance or anything. -
Prime seems offely picky, especially on the work history in this economy. Did they forget our economy tanked in 2008 and because of this it ramrodded quite a bit of hard working folks. Like myself, I have a college education, am certified out the arse, certified mean I have passed tests with subject matter that is relevant to my work, and these tests are very hard. So if I've worked 4 places due to a contract job they would not accept me? Sounds like a bunch of BS....

I live in austin, texas and I am in the process of getting on with Prime. I realized the closest terminal is in OK. I am wanting to be a company driver. Will my home location and be an issue when I get my own truck? As far as home time goes.
