    Yep.

No way they are going to put you in a new, 1/4 million dollar truck & trailer, hauling hundreds of thousands to at times, millions of dollars of freight without any experience. Just ain't gonna happen.

Having the CDL already in hand is a nice head start, but WAY MORE to the job than just hopping in the truck. That would be just asking for a tradgedy. You will have to train for some time with ANYBODY that is reputable that will accept you. As pony stated, even if you had several years experience, you'd be in the same position with a lenthy lag of not driving.

Might want to reexamine your attitude on this, as that is also going to be a factor no matter where you go. Your going to have to deal with the realities of what is required out here, and a lot of times it is not going to be what YOU believe it should be. If you are unable to do that, you will never make it out here. Attitude is going to make or break you.

Hey, I wish you the best of luck finding what you want. You've already made the start. Everyone is just trying let you know what's real out here, rather than some fictional dream spun by a CDL school.

    PEACE. ;)

Do you use the prime app at all? Sometimes I'll send in the 27 and it could take a couple of hours before I get the response back on the QC but I'll usually get it on the prime app within minutes assuming the message actually went out.

Speaking of, did you check you sent messages just to make sure it did send and isn't sitting there pending? I spent most of today with no qc signal but I could send and receive QC messages through the app.

As for your 27, if there is no fueling required, it will still send you a message back that says just that, "no fueling required for this trip" or something along those lines.

    Good luck,

You could always call the fuel desk... sometimes the MIS system gets fouled up... if the message was sent and nothing came back. Also your FM can open up your card for a one-time use at the fuel island.

Whatever inventory of leased trucks that are turned in early they have available for a given orientation week is what's available. Basically you lease the truck for the remainder of the three year lease. The powertrain warranty will be in effect until 350,000 miles, engine manufacturers warranty through 4 years or 600,000 miles, plus Success Leasing funds a 60-day bumper-to-bumper warranty that will fix anything you find wrong after your initial inspection. There is also funding for the used tread wear put into your tire escrow so that you won't be totally in the lurch for tires when you need new ones. All of the escrows for tire and mileage plus deductions that are normally on a 3-year lease apply. The truck payment is usually quite a bit less than what you'd see for a new one, but it depends on how much time is left on the lease.

The used truck supply is FCFS and usually goes very quickly on the day that the lease orientation group is allowed to go pick trucks.

IP, based on what you know about Prime's and other leases, do you think Prime's is "the best?" And I realize that is totally subjective, but you've been around a while and know wherof you speak.

It's worked for me. There's a gal I know who couldn't make a dime at Prime, but is doing very well at Swift.

...I won't recommend it to anyone since one's personal situation so drastically influences these things, but I do think that if you do the hard work and operate your lease as a business (with all that entails) that Prime does give you an opportunity to be successful.

Any advice for dress etiquette during orientation week, particularly on day 1 for the integrity interview? Are every day clothes fine? I'm not exactly planning on wearing sweat pants, an Obama tshirt and neon sneakers, but jeans, a plain tshirt and tennis shoes? Should I pack dress pants, dress shoes and a button up for the interview?

wait so you can't pick your terms and type of truck BEFORE coming aboard?
All that happens once you're already at lease orientation?
