If you have a means To take the equipment with you and sell it later, without much hassle, that would be the way to go. Prime won't give you much for it used.

I talked to Prime today, and was offered a spot in the 1/12 orientation/training for tanker. I've read a few pages here - seems like most of you folks are happy. Is there a resource that anyone has put together for Prime training info besides talking to the recruiter? Thanks!

I keep getting emails from McLane Foodservice. If they have a DC in your area, you might check with them. And remember that any equipment you are required to purchase can be written off as a job-related expense. If none of the cost is reimbursed, so much the better. Just keep your receipts.

I'm sure it's been answered before but I can't seem to find anything on it. How does the training program work? All I keep seeing is the extra pay per week. What if I have a buddy that I want to train and then run teams with? Would that be possible? What would the pay/split to the truck be like? I had 2 trainers and all I needed was 10k miles for flatbed. So I know how some of these trainers can be. So that's why both of us would prefer I trained him. He'd be coming in with no CDL so I'm not 100% on how the PSD and TNT training work here either.

I'm currently on the company side and have no ambition to go to lease.

You of have to take the PSD/TNT trainers classes which I think are 4 days and no pay not positive on the pay part. During the PSD part of his training Prime gives you I think $400 extra a week to offset lower miles because of training. During the TNT part your overall base pay is a little less but you should be running about double the miles. Also anything over 3500 in a week you get a .10cpm bonus for the miles above 3500. After all training is done I think team pay is 42cpm split in half.

Can anyone tell me if Prime pays mileage without a load? I am contemplating getting my CDL training and otr experience through either Prime or Swift... can anyone give me advice?
