I wanted to thank a Prime driver. I tried to go onto the Prime Trucking website and e-mail a thank you to this driver, however, the site does not have a contact email address.
How can I forward my gratitude for his assistance on a very unexpected stormy night in Portland, ME, early Monday morning 2am. November 7th. I just got out of work from Maine Medical Center.
Route 22 in Westbrook, Me was closed due to downed trees. The road was very dark. The winds were at least gusting in burst of 40 miles an hour. Debris was flying everywhere.
A Prime truck pulled up beside my Saab at an intersection. All the surrounding lights were out. He asked if I was OK. At that hour of the night, I usually would never respond to anyone. (although Portland area is very safe).
I was relieved to have a person ask if everything was alright. He too was not able to travel down this route. He asked if I knew how to get him around the blocked area, he just finished hauling for Hannaford. I told him that I could take him around another way to get back on Route 22.
When I got him to the other side, there were no other vehicles or trucks in the area. Having this Prime driver at least follow me made me feel safer than traveling by myself during this terrible storm.
If you can get this to him, I am grateful for his assistance in making me feel safe.

Question: My license if from Colorado, where I also have a house. I own land in Gainesville, MO, and only have a PO box there (going to build another house there, in time). When I get my CDL from MO, will I be able to keep it in MO or will I have to switch it over to CO since that is where my Drivers License is from.
-
You need to have your CDL transferred to your state of residence - that would be your tax home as well in most cases. Sounds like you'll need to take that Missouri CDL to Colorado and get it transferred.
-
Thanks Ironpony...that's what I was thinking...don't think I'll have time to get that house built and a physical address in MO by February >
Do you know how long the process for switching a CDL is, and can I take my endorsements at the same time? -
I don't see why you couldn't get it all done at the same time... CO DMV is usually pretty reasonable about getting things done.
How long depends on where you go to get it done. From my experience, the metro-Denver area offices are usually totally slammed, plan on spending all day. When I got my CDL one of the fellas going through the classes with me told me that he'd gone to an outlying office - in this case Brush, CO. No lines, no waiting - but I'd still get there by the time they open.revslev Thanks this. -
-
The hazard of not doing that is getting pulled into a weigh station, presenting your CDL when asked, and finding yourself disqualified from driving because you're not licensed properly. A lot of carriers will terminate you for that.revslev Thanks this. -
Do you know if I have until training is over to get that accomplished (full 80k)?
-
You know what, if you find yourself disqualified from driving, I bet you'll find all carriers will terminate your services as a driver...............
