If you have the resources to buy trucks then you should start by leasing that truck on with a carrier that will run the truck for you. You need to look at this as an invesment and for far less money than it will cost you others can manage many aspects of you business.

Hey OP good luck with the dream !! I dig it man....

I have a oilfield/trucking ##### myself...The key to your success will be information...Just like poker!! Just like the stock market...The more information you have, the better..Lots of great info here, even if its innacurrate, its usefull information at some level..So far, im finding it pretty easy to tell who's got quality valuable information, and who's full of horse poopy, for whatever reason..Lots of great old schoolers here with the wisdom, but a lot of negative nancy's as well

As a serious student of the industry (Im an old heavy equip operator now in trucking), Ive noticed that theres a line of 'too much' that needs to be defined...How many trucks is just right?...Ive seen fellas do real good, then buy too much stuff, end up way over extended.
Just take r slow and steady, gathering as much information as possible all along the way..Hear as much as you can from the ones that failed..Try to learn your way out of it!!

Me, I see the money there !! I see the life!!!
Just gotta get everyone else on board!!!

    For a couple success stories...

I know 3 o/o's...Mexican, unrelated, all WALKED here from mexico..They studied man..They came here with a plan and have executed it..These guys learned the system, got citizenship, got free rides into trucking schools, got jobs, worked hard, bought houses, established credit, built familes...These guys have got on with companies as o/o's, then later hired drivers to drive their trucks..My new pal, Carlos, has 2 trucks with swift, 4 guys, newish drivers, and he just put someone in his truck where im at (Central..LTL)...Armando has 5 trucks!!! WTF?

These guys have nailed this particular path..They have great homes, nice stuff, seem happy!!..Im really impressed..not exatly what I want to do..but none the less, a success story

Stiil cant understand em for crap tho

If your driven, and competent, and you do your homework, you'll be a success..Even if you learn your way out of the idea altogether
