Yep, each one is almost like a franchise, with different operational needs and styles depending on local management decisions.

Nope, that all depends on your terminal manager too.

I have an assigned truck that I’ve been in for 12 years.

I don’t think I could do this job if I had to run a different pig sty every day.

How many miles does it have on it? I hope I'm not in my current truck that long. It would have over 2 million on it in 12 years. It only has 100,000 on it now and it already has electrical gremlins.

I'm going to refer to our extra trucks as Pig Sty from now on. Perfect description.

    About 778K.

Mine is the last of that vintage that still has the original hood and front bumper.

Even if you have an assigned truck you can't expect your crap to be secured in it. I had an assigned truck when I was with dot foods. I foolishly left an expensive g shock watch in it during my 34 and was stolen when I got back. (Another dot driver stole it because all our keys were universal and my sleeper had been moved). An expensive lesson learned never trust your fellow truck driver no matter how "classy" the outfit

Well not to sound sarcastic but it's really you own fault for leaving personal items in the truck. Haven't you learn theres no such thing as honesty amongs people.

I have a assigned truck for my night line haul run. There is identical truck I use when mine is broke down...that said the "spare truck" gets used about 5 nights a month. I only work 18 nights a month! No such thing as reliable trucks these days
I empty my truck at the end of each shift. Its company policy.
