    Can someone please tell me if new drivers are required to still take a driving test once they are complete with their roadtime with the trainer?

    The TMC web page says new drivers have to "Certify" their training before getting issued their truck. Does that mean testing out?

    I am thinking that after being with the trainer for that many weeks, the driving test should not be that difficult.

    After your orientation and time with a trainer, you should get in a truck in a couple of days. Depends on if they have your truck at Des Moines or not. After I got out of my trainers truck, I had to go to Des Moines to complete the process, can't remember what exactly, more paperwork, testing to make sure you know the paperwork for the loads. I was there for 2 days, my truck wasn't. It was at the dedicated account I would be working out of.

    This was 3 yrs ago, so process might have changed a little.
